The Aerospace Engineering program in the Rutgers School of Engineering has been heavily developing in the last few years. Inspired by this momentum, it lead to the creation of Rutgers Rocket Propulsion Laboratory (Rutgers RPL). Formed in the summer of 2017, the team was organized by a small group of friends interested in rocketry. Their focus was set on competing in the premier rocket competition throughout the country, Spaceport America Cup.
Rutgers RPL operates under Rutgers’ official AIAA chapter, and works closely with the Rutgers Engineering Governing Council to facilitate opportunities within the Rutgers Community. Our members are trained in accordance with the National Association of Rocketry and are required to become Level 1 certified prior to working with the competition rockets. In addition, our Liquid Motor Research and Development Team is working tirelessly to reach their goals, and are currently developing a static thrust stand for use in future testing. Over the past year, RRPL has successfully designed and build several High Powered rockets, with notable launches including the Spaceport America Cup 2018.
High Powered rocket and are working against the clock to debut the engineering pride of the team.
